Abstract
Jordi Pomés explores the relationship that the prominent poet Jacint Verdaguer had with Canet de Mar. It is most probable that it was Lluís Domènech i Montaner who started the strong link between Father Cinto and Canet, as the men knew each other at least from the 1870s, they were professional collaborators and forged a strong friendship. Through Domènech, Verdaguer met the owners of the Castle of Santa Florentina, Ramon de Montaner i Florentina Malató. Father Cinto also became a good friend of this couple, who invited the poet on different occasions to stay for a few days in their Castle in Canet. Verdaguer dedicated two poems to Malattó when she died in 1900 as well as a quatrain to the Virgin of Misericòrdia.
