    Abstract

The paper draws mortality per age and per cause evolution in Spain since 1960 and gives an account of the changes in mortality levels and profiles. It analyses the effect of the different causes of death on mortality's overall evolution which, on the whole, matches the mortality in the other European countries. It establishes different regional groups with low or poor but strongly marked mortalities. -English summary
