Abstract
A new family of dendrimers up to the third generation is synthesized starting from a 15-membered triolefinic azamacrocycle. γ-Iminophosphane groups are anchored on the surface of the second and third generations, and their corresponding PdII complexes are prepared. To investigate the effect of shielding upon the coordinating ability of the macrocyclic core, the coordination with Pd0 and Pt0 atoms is studied. During this process, two new materials containing Pd0 or Pt0 nanoparticles stabilized by these dendrimers are characterized by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, IR spectroscopy, and elemental analysis. © 2011 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
