Abstract
This paper wants to show the increasing importance of time in welfare societies. It means to take in charge time as a key dimension in welfare policies. The main arguments are oriented to point out the beginnings of time issues, in these societies. Gender perspective is underlined. The text tries, also, to precise the theoretical concept of time and to analyse the social relationships between time and work Finally, it offers some details about new scenarios and policies oriented to make real theses time policies: city and everyday life.
