La traducció dels noms propis: una aproximació teòrica i pràctica

This book studies current issues involved in the rendering of proper names, especially toponyms and anthroponyms, but without neglecting other types of names, such as the names of organisations and institutions or artistic and literary works. It presents the different translation techniques that can be applied, analyses the most commonly used strategies and proposes criteria and elements of judgement for tackling this challenge. It also aims to raise awareness of the cultural and political dimension that surrounds proper names, because without understanding it, many of the challenges posed by their translation cannot be understood or addressed.
