Abstract
This paper analyses the linguistic and discursive quality of simultaneous interpretations into Catalan broadcast in the media, with the aim of determining their suitability as a model for interpreter training. Although there are studies on language quality in the media and on interpreting quality in general, there is still a lack of a specific framework for evaluating interpreted oral language in Catalan. In this study, nine interpreted texts in Catalan are transcribed and analysed, and then assessed using rubrics created for this purpose. A second objective is to establish whether it is possible to trace a shared style-a kind of interpretese-in interpreted Catalan discourse broadcast in the media, or whether, on the contrary, each interpreter shows a distinct personal style.
