Abstract
Diversification of production activities in farms is a reality becoming more relevant compared to the specialisation of the production. From the survey done to 125 Catalan farms and a number of deep interviews, the different types or models of diversification are analysed in order to know the features and logic of diversification in Catalan farms. The study defines four groups or types of diversification and shows the results of diversification as well as the
strategy that supports diversification in each group.
