Abstract
The aim of this paper is to show the model of “revision and increase” of the 10th edition of the DRAE published in 1852. To carry out this purpose, this research focuses on the macrostructure of the DRAE 1852 from the analysis of the words that were added and deleted in this edition. Additionally this exam is complemented by a contrast with the previous dictionaries of RAE. The research has shed more light on the contribution of the DRAE 1852 in the history of dictionaries of the Real Academia Española and in the description of the lexicon of 19th century.
