Abstract
The author introduces the picture collection of the canon and royal chaplain, Pablo Recio y Tello, through the publication of the complete inventory of his collection, which includes 464 paintings. A brief biography of this collector is also outlined: he took part in different artistic enterprises, such as the transfer to the Academy of the pictures confiscated by the Frenchmen and stored in various warehouses, or the planning of a museum in the Buenavista Palace. The inventory discloses a very active collector who was also an expert in Ancient Spanish Painting.
