Abstract
This contribution shows the results of research carried out on the role of school management in promoting organisational ethics in schools in Catalonia. The study looks at what leaders think and how they characterize and develop organisational ethics in their educational institutions. The role and profile of school leadership to promote organisational ethics is characterised and experiences and tools are highlighted for the management of organisational ethics in school. The research is supported by a field study with 18 exploratory interviews (9 directors, 7 experts in organisational ethics and 2 education inspectors), 442 questionnaires for school leaders and two discussion groups. The conclusions point to the importance of collaborative strategic planning, systematic evaluation under ethical criteria and the explicit commitment of school leadership and educational administration.
