Abstract

Joseph Iglesies was one of the most outstanding geographers trained in the hiking environments. This paper reflects the main features and events of his biography and thought. He carried out exhaustive work in historical demography as well as in local and county studies. Nevertheless, the most remarkable feature of his personality was his high civic spirit that led him to foster so many interesting projects in a very difficult period of Catalan geography. -from English summary
