An Object Oriented Simulation prototype based on a new variable integration step size algorithm has been developed. The algorithm is capable of determining a quasi-optimal step size at each instant of time studying the behaviour of the increments that the state variables has suffered. The simulation engine has been implemented using message passing as synchronization technique which helps reducing computational rate. Results illustrate the suitability of the implementation to improve simulation performance when solving ordinary differential equations (ODEs).
