Information-Statistical Extended Thermodynamics and Turbulent-Induced Heat Flux Inhibition

Abstract

It is shown that information theory predicts a decrease of the effective thermal conductivity. This new correction corresponds to a time-delayed vorticity dynamics, and it may explain the inhibition of the effective heat flux in turbulent systems.
