Abstract
Copyright © FrancoAngeli The Valley of the Fallen is the undying symbol par excellence of the Spanish Civil War. This article discusses the contemporary debates over this space, its history and its symbolic and narrative meaning. These debates are defined by the exceptional nature of the Valley as well as by the lack of knowledge about the monument and the failure to elaborate a critical approach to its past, its present and its multiple meanings.
