Abstract
This study shows the development and implementation of the Personalized Counselling Programme for Coaches (PAPE) in a sample of basketball coaches. The three objectives of this study are: a) To present the procedure followed for the application of PAPE with basketball coaches in order to improve motivational climate and communication styles; b) To assess the effectiveness of the PAPE programme with basketball coaches; and c) To justify the relevance for using PAPE in the context of Physical Education and offer recommendations for its adaptation. The implementation of this programme produces positive results regarding coaches' communication styles and the motivational climate among athletes. © 2013 Fundación Infancia y Aprendizaje.
