Abstract

The Research Group in Agricultural Archaeology of the Middle Ages studies medieval settlements, both rural and urban, considering not only the inhabited areas and their archaeological record but also agricultural areas, their forms of social management and the technical choices that these involved. The research focuses on the study of al-Andalus society, the feudal societies and societies formed after the conquest of Al-Andalus. It also aims to study the organization of agricultural management in overseas colonies. Such research also enables us to contribute to strategies for protection and enhancement of landscape heritage.
