Abstract
The integration of Generative Artificial Intelligence into education is reshaping teaching and learning practices, creating an urgent need for regulatory and verification policies. In health-related university programs, these challenges are amplified because inaccurate information may lead to potential diagnostic and treatment errors. To examine the official AI policies of Spanish universities and assess the accuracy of ChatGPT 3.5 outcomes. Comparative study. Although university policies promote transparency and responsible use, they lack mandatory mechanisms to ensure systematic verification of information generated by AI tools. The study highlights the need for administrative policies that embed critical verification models within the curriculum, ensuring that the use of artificial intelligence reliably strengthens—rather than jeopardizes—the quality, safety, and academic rigor of university education, with relevance for healthcare training.
