Abstract
Salvador Espriu's bilingual (Catalan-German) publication of his complete poetical works by the Zurich publishing house Amman marks a historic moment in the reception of Catalan literature in German-speaking countries. It also represents the apex of the penetration of Espriu in the German literary system, a process which began in 1970. This article looks at this process in detail, focusing on Fritz Vogelgsang, author of the German version of the complete poetical works. A study of the texts is carried out, departing from the translator's own comments, a comparison with other versions, and the appraisal found in German reviews.
