Abstract

Various studies show the spatial structure of cities causes several economic, environmental, and social effects. For maximizing positive and minimizing negative ones an exhaustive study of the urban form is needed. Centered in the case of the Barcelona Metropolitan Region (BMR) between 1991 and 2005, this study analyses statically and dynamically its spatial structure and characterizes its population suburbanization process. That is, the spatial impact of the last population localization changes is analysed.
