Abstract

The effect of several nonionic detergents and diazonium salts on the continuous monitoring method for acid phosphatase determination using 1-naphthyl phosphate as substrate has been studied. It was found that detergents improved the stability of both reagent and diazocomplex formed between diazonium salt and 1-naphtol. Nonidet® P-40 at 2 g/L concentration was selected as the most effective detergent. On the other hand, it was found that Fast Red ITR salt also improved both reagent and diazocomplex stability than to commonly used Fast Red TR salt. The sensitivity of the assay was not affected.
