Abstract

© 2015. Professionality has today a very restricted meaning. It is connected with success linked to reputation and wealthness instead to a sense of excellence linked to good practice. This is the reason why ethics is being applied to medical practice in order to dignify and humanize a profession that is rooted in human suffering. The ethics of virtue is the most suitable to set up the ethical values that should guide the behaviour of professionals, in the fields of medicine and nursering. Virtues are overall a practical knowledge that is learned in practice and requires the creation of a suitable environment in order to configurate the personality of professionals.
