Abstract

A case of emphysematous pyelonephritis which was diagnosed by conventional radiology and confirmed by ultrasonography, computed tomography, and surgery is described. The etiology and pathogenesis of this severe infection are discussed, and the usefulness of the various noninvasive radiologic methods for the diagnosis and management of the infection is reviewed. © 1987.
