Abstract
This article points out the anomaly of the secessionist idea in the context of the European Union. The author values the sense of the historical project of the European Union as a process of gradual rapprochement between the peoples of Europe. From this position, the article analyses Catalan separatism and its goal of adopting State structures as the addition of counter-values with which the European Union has encouraged its political action.
