Abstract
The Spanish Constitutional Court has rendered important precedents recently on the application of the right to an effective judicial protection in arbitration and limited the scope of the judicial review of the arbitration procedures on occasion of actions for annulment, reinforcing arbitration as an efficient alternative to the judicial process, en-dowing it with the necessary legal certainty. This jurisprudential tendency has an impact in the field of consumers arbitrations, where it limits also the scope of public order con-siderations and strikes a balance between the consumer’s protection and party autonomy.
