Eixugar les llàgrimes d'A la recerca del temps perdut : una experiència de traducció

Which role translation does play in keeping the universal literary heritage alive? This papersummarizes my speech in the IX Jornades Arbonès of Translation and Literature celebrated onthe 14th and 15th October 2020 and brings about the need to translate the classics and alsoretranslate them regularly. The paper also considers the contribution of these retranslations tothe literary scene and the dialogue they establish with the contemporaneity. On the other hand, this article analyses Marcel Proust's In search of lost time's several translations to Catalan and meditates about how can we bring closer classics to the readers.
