Abstract

The speed of front propagation in fractals was studied by using the reduction of the reaction-transport equation into a Hamiltonian-Jacobi equation and the local-equilibrium approach. Different equations were proposed for describing transport in fractal media. The main features of wave fronts resulting from this dynamic process were analyzed. The results show that Campos-Méndez-Fort (CMF) equation is the best analytical approach proposed to date for description of transport on fractals.
