Abstract
Among the more than 550 taxa included in the genus Laboulbenia, there are only a few species in which small, few-celled thalli are paired with perithecia hearing thalli. The evidence of dioecism in two of these species (L. inflata Thaxt. and L. marina F. Picard) is discussed here and they are compared with L. formicarum Thaxt., a distinctive dioecious species.
