Diagnosis of the cytogenetical disorders in male infertility

    Four hundred and sixty nine patients who sought medical advice owing to sterility or infertility have been subjected to study of the meiosis by means of semen examination (156) or testicular biopsy (313). The observed alterations comprise blockade of the spermatogenesis, deficiency of the somatic cells and anomalies restricted to the germical cell epithelium. the aetiology of the nine observed cases of desynapsis is discussed The a classification for them is put forward. Finally, the usefulness of the semen techniques and the role of electron microscopy in the evaluation of the sterile patient is taken into account.
