Demography and gender: the specificness of Southern Europe

Research output: Contribution to journalArticleResearchpeer-review

Abstract

Demography is a field where sex is always taken into account. What is more, women usually take priority in demographic estimations. Even so, this special attention does not imply that demography is a feminist discipline. From a gender perspective, there are some demographic variables related to the relationship between the south and the north of Europe, which are very interesting to study. Perhaps the most significant is the principal demographical problem of southern countries: immigration. -English summary
