Abstract
This research paper argues that some of the arguments used to support and defend the goodness of restorative justice proposals tend to criticize the liberal criminal law model in an unjustified or, at least, exaggerated way. Therefore, the main objective of the present study has been to try to offer counterarguments to the aforementioned criticisms of restorative justice. In addition, in these pages the reader will find some comments on possible aspects of participatory restorative justice procedures which, in the operational field, may present some practical tensions.
