Abstract

In this work, we apply a mean field potential deduced from the multiband Hubbard hamiltonian in order to obtain the lower and upper strongly correlated bands. We have obtained the total and partial density of states for Ud = 0 and Ud = 4 eV. The results show that the density of states calculated with Ud = 4 eV at EF is lesser than that obtained with Ud = 0. A small peak above EF arising from the strong correlated bands appears in the dDOS calculated with Ud = 4 eV and this is in agreement with the experimental data. © 1989.
