Abstract
The magnetic properties of cold deformed Fe60Al40 alloys were investigated. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction using Cu Kα radiation. Thermal expansion and differential scanning calorimetric measurements were performed from room temperature up to 800 K, with a heating rate of 10 K/min. An increase in the magnetic susceptibility was found after deformation. Thermal expansion measurements show a volume decrease upon heating at the ferro-paramagnetic phase transition, according to magnetic measurements.
