Abstract

On the basis of the data compiled from the literature and from the field work accomplished by the authors during the year 1994, a list of 19 entomopathogenic species of Entomophthorales from the Iberian Peninsula is given. Ten of these species have been collected and studied by the authors, are described and illustrated with photographs and other material. Among the species studied, especially remarkable are Entomophaga tipulae, Erynia ovispora, Erynia curvispora and Conidiobolus pseudapiculatus which are first Iberian records. Erynia conica and Erynia rhizospora are reported for the first time on their hosts, because previously they were only known by the appearance of some of their conidial types in studies of aquatic fungi.
