Abstract

The complexes between formaldehyde and boron trihalides have been theoretically studied at several levels of calculation. The nature of the interaction and the relative acid strength of boron trihalides have been discussed. The effect of complexation on the molecular geometry, molecular spectra, and reactivity has also been considered. © 1991, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
