Abstract
© The Author(s) 2014. Although most of the responsibility of a PPS lays in the candidates generation and classification modules, other additional components are needed to fulfill the system requirements and complete the process. They are the preprocessing module, which is placed at the beginning of the system’s pipeline before the candidates generation; the verification and refinement, which are placed just after the classification; and the tracking and application modules, which are placed at the end of the system’s pipeline and it is the one that generates the output. In addition to reviewing such modules, in this chapter we also review the approaches employed to achieve real-time, which is a global aspect to take into account in a real system.
