Abstract

In 2014, a vaccination program for pregnant women against whooping cough began in Catalonia due to the increase in hospitalizations of young infants for this infection. This study compares the hospitalization rate for whooping cough in babies under one year of age between the periods 2008-2013 and 2014-2019 at the Hospital Infantil Vall d'Hebron and demonstrates the considerable decrease in hospitalizations after the program.
