Abstract
A cavity quantum electrohydrodynamic (CQED) method for intracavity field was developed. The method used a single-three level atom driven by a longitudnal mode of a high-Q cavity to implement two-qubit quantum phase gates (QPG) for the intracavity field. It was found that QPG realizations with fidelities above 0.99 could be achieved. The results show that gate times of around 0.1 ms for the microwave regime and a few microseconds for the optical regime can be attained which lie below achievable photon lifetimes in high-Q cavities.
