Abstract

Using the MINDO/3 method variation of the potential barrier for the Diels-Alder reaction between 1-hydroxybutadiene and acrolein, catalyzed by BF3 and NH4+, has been studied. An interpretation of the experimental facts about the increase regioselectivity, and stereoselectivity for Diels-Alder reactions catalyzed by Lewis acids is given. © 1983.
