Abstract
The development of cardiac tamponade (CT) as the presenting feature of neoplastic disease is a very infrequent finding. We report four patients who were admitted to our Intensive Care Unit the last two years, in whom the presenting sign of malignant disease was CT. The aim of this study was to investigate the most eminent clinical aspects of this disease and also to determine the incidence of CT as the first sign of a neoplasm from a revision of the literature.
