Abstract

As part of the consideration of the processes of agricultural work and the social systems of production, which are representative of the Catalonian agricultural sector in the mid-1800s, the article analyses the means of the transformation of Catalonian agriculture under the new conditions imposed by the expansion of capitalism. These ended up consolidating some agricultural systems which were much simpler and of higher productivity, in which the peasant household has occupied an increasingly central position. -from English summary
