Abstract

Properties of D mesons produced in the photo-production experiment NA 14/2 at CERN are reported. The following ratios of branching fractions were measured: {Mathematical expression}. The D0→K-π+π+π- decay was analysed and the contribution of resonant subprocesses found consistent with 1 ρ0 and 0.23 {Mathematical expression}*0 per event. The angular distributions of D0→ {Mathematical expression}*0 showed parity violation and destructive interference between S- and D-waves. From a Dalitz-plot analysis of the decay D+→K-π+π+ the contribution from the quasi two-body decay D+→ {Mathematical expression}*0π+ was measured to be 0.14±0.04±0.04. © 1991 Springer-Verlag.
