Banding patterns of the chromosomes of man and gorilla

Abstract

A comparison of the Q and G banding patterns of the chromosomes of man and the gorilla shows that they are almost identical. The main differences, which are the result of simple chromosomal rearrangements, include one centric fusion and eight pericentric inversions.
