This article analyzes the emergence of robotic presenters with the use of Artificial Intelligence exhibited for the first time in the V World Congress on the Internet in 2018. The applied methodology refers to the content analysis of informative notes, signed by journalists from Spanish-American media, whose Criteria are categorized in a valuation matrix, for and against the use of avatars in news. As a result, a perception a) integrated to the use of technology is evident, b) apocalyptic versus the automation of journalistic processes and c) neutral and expectant of new inventions in the field of Artificial Intelligence. By way of conclusion, the idea of Penrose (1991) who calls avatars journalists as executing agents is retaken. It is considered important to sponsor the complementary work of avatars in secondary tasks that facilitate the daily tasks of this classic trade.
