    Abstract

This work presents a reflection on the concepts of domestication and domestic animals, with special emphasis on the different historiographical trends that have prevailed regarding the problematical history of early animal domestication. It goes on to examine, on a methodological level, the different ways of approaching the study of animal remains, with the aim of identifying among them the first domestic animals, while stressing at all times the need to carry out integrated studies.
