© 2015, Universidad del Zulia. All rights reserved. In this paper we present a qualitative research with a double aim. On one side, we intend to define the key elements of an innovative educational practice on world music and the teaching and learning methodology of the project method. On the other side, the paper wants to expose a way of designing an investigation that, from our understanding, confers an appropriate methodology for contemplating innovative educational practices at school. The use of the exploratory research is the core of the matter. The results show us that the methodology of the exploratory researches constitutes a favorable way to achieve the aims we plan.
