    Abstract

    The authors review the clinical pictures which can be associated with the hereditary or congenital deficit of this protein, describing the panacinar emphysemas, the acute respiratory distress of the newborn, and certain types of cirrhosis. Other clinical pictures, which have been referred to this protein in a sporadic way, were analyzed.
