Abstract
The first Catalan translation of Lewis Carroll's popular novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is due to Josep Carner. The work was published under the title Alícia en terra de meravelles by Edicions Mentora, subsidiary company of Editorial Joventut, in 1927. For the third edition, which was published in 1971 by Joventut, the literary editor Marià Manent asked his son, Albert, to lighten Carner's translation. In the following interview, Albert Manent explains the aim and criteria for his amendments to Carner's text.
