Abstract
Indispositione generale della monarchia di Spagna is a short political treatise written in Italian at the end of 1630 that would surely have gone unnoticed if had not been attributed to the writer and diplomat Diego de Saavedra Fajardo in the mid-Twentieth century. This article aims to review the arguments that were used to validate this thesis and present new documents and some considerations that point out the low possibility that the text was written by Diego de Saavedra.
