Abstract

An almost thermoneutral equilibrium mixture of hydride alkylidene 1 and hydride alkene 2 (see scheme) is feasible with a TpMe2Ir III system (Tp is tris(pyrazolyl)borate) through its reaction with o-C6H4(OH)CH2CH3 under activation of sp3 C-H bonds.
