Abstract

The photochemical reactions of O- and N-(2-methoxy-4-nitro)phenoxyalkyl derivatives of estrone and of the antibiotic cycloheximide with methylamine afford clean substitutions of the methoxy group. From these experiments it is inferred that 2-methoxy-4-nitrophenyl ethers can be good photoaffinity labels. © 1986.
